False 25

The 2020 presidential election was rigged.

Recounts, audits, court rulings and election-security officials found no fraud capable of changing the certified result.

Biden let 21 million people into the United States, including people released from prisons and mental institutions.

The figure far exceeded documented border encounters, which are events rather than unique admissions, and no evidence showed foreign governments emptied institutions into the United States.

Harvard refused to identify its international students to the government.

Harvard had supplied required student records while contesting broader demands.

Russia stole United States hypersonic-missile technology during the Obama administration.

No public evidence supports the allegation; Russia and the United States pursued hypersonic systems through longstanding independent programs.

The video shown in the Oval Office depicted burial sites for about 1,000 white South African farmers.

The footage showed a memorial demonstration with white crosses, not an actual burial site for the people named in the claim.

White South African farmers were being killed in a genocide.

The repeated genocide framing was not supported by experts, crime statistics or the South African government's record; farm murders were real but did not establish genocide.

The House bill did not change Medicaid and only cut waste, fraud and abuse.

The legislation included eligibility and financing changes projected to reduce enrollment and federal spending.

Trump won three presidential elections.

Trump won the 2016 and 2024 elections but lost the certified 2020 election to Joe Biden.

The United States had substantially more than $10 trillion in new investment commitments.

The White House's published list was far below $10 trillion and included multiyear pledges and commercial agreements rather than completed investment.

Egg prices were down 97% or 98% from where they had been.

Retail egg prices fell 12.7% in April from March's record, not 97% or 98%, and remained 49.3% higher than a year earlier.

Illegal border crossings had fallen 99.999%, with only three people getting through the southern border in the prior month.

Crossings fell sharply, but official April data recorded thousands of Border Patrol apprehensions, not three, and did not support a 99.999% decline.

U.S. military enlistments were the highest in 30 years or perhaps ever.

Recruiting improved, including gains that began in fiscal 2024, but the services had not published a comparable 30-year record supporting the superlative.

The United States had no inflation.

Consumer prices were still 2.3% higher in April than a year earlier; a one-month decline in March did not mean inflation had disappeared.

More than $10 trillion in new U.S. investment had been announced or was coming since the election.

The White House's published list was far below $10 trillion and included multiyear pledges and commercial agreements rather than completed investment.

TSMC was investing $200 billion in the United States.

TSMC's announced U.S. investment plan totaled $165 billion: an existing $65 billion commitment plus an additional $100 billion announced in March.

Biden's Medicare negotiations made five of ten selected drugs more expensive than before negotiation.

Five negotiated prices remained more than twice comparable-country averages, but the negotiations still reduced their U.S. prices.

A genocide was taking place against white farmers in South Africa.

Farm attacks and killings occur, but experts and available crime data did not establish a government-backed or group-destruction campaign meeting the genocide claim.

The South African government was confiscating white farmers' land.

South Africa's expropriation law allows takings only under defined public-interest conditions with legal process; reviewed evidence did not show government confiscation of white-owned farms.

The proposed transfer of Qatar's Boeing 747 was a very public and transparent transaction.

At the time of the claim, the legal arrangement, final recipient and transfer terms had not been publicly explained.

The United States had secured close to $10 trillion in new investment in roughly two months.

The White House tally was far lower and included broad commitments rather than verified completed investment; independent review found the near-$10 trillion figure unsupported.

Declining cargo traffic at U.S. ports meant the United States was losing less money.

Lower import volume can reduce customs receipts and signal trade disruption; economists did not support the claim that a port slowdown itself meant the country was financially better off.

The Digital Equity Act was an illegal race-based handout.

The law funded broadband access and digital-skills programs for covered populations including rural residents, veterans, older adults and people with disabilities; it was not limited to race and had not been ruled illegal.

The United States subsidized Canada by about $200 billion per year.

A trade deficit is not a subsidy, and official 2024 figures put the goods-and-services deficit around $45 billion, far below $200 billion.

The 2020 presidential election was rigged.

Recounts, audits, court rulings and federal and state election officials found no fraud capable of changing Joe Biden's certified victory.

Gasoline had fallen to $1.88 per gallon.

No state average was close to $1.88; the lowest state average was about $2.66 and the national average was above $3 per gallon.

Misleading 8

The government spent $20 million on an Arab Sesame Street program that nobody could find.

The funding supported Ahlan Simsim, a documented Arabic-language educational program for children affected by conflict; describing it as untraceable omitted what the program did.

The government spent $8 million making mice transgender.

The grants studied how gender-affirming hormones affected health conditions in mice; they did not seek to change the animals' sex or gender identity.

The TAKE IT DOWN Act received votes from 99 senators and 408 House members.

The Senate passed the bill by unanimous consent without a 99-member recorded vote, and the House roll call was 409-2, not 408.

Groceries were down.

The food-at-home index fell 0.4% in April, but remained higher than a year earlier and had not broadly reversed the cumulative rise in grocery prices.

Groceries, gasoline, energy and all other prices were down.

Some energy prices and the April food-at-home index declined over short periods, but food remained more expensive than a year earlier and prices overall were still rising.

U.S. drug prices were generally five to ten times higher than in the rest of the developed world.

Some individual brand-name drugs showed gaps in that range, but the overall average was closer to three times and U.S. generic prices were generally lower.

Qatar's Boeing 747 gift would be free of charge to the United States.

Although Qatar supplied the aircraft without a purchase price, converting it for presidential use was expected to require tens or hundreds of millions of dollars in security, communications and survivability work.

Companies were building U.S. plants because of Trump's tariffs.

Some companies announced U.S. projects, but several commitments predated the tariffs or had other drivers; the evidence did not support a broad tariff-causation claim.
