Iran and other Middle Eastern countries had agreed to the parameters of a deal that would fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end Iran's nuclear threat.

AP found that mediators had a proposal and talks were continuing, but a regional official said no deal had been reached. Iran's Foreign Ministry said there were no current talks about reopening the strait. The post therefore overstated preliminary mediation as regional agreement on deal parameters.
